Eragon: Dragon Rider
Alas poor Golden Axe, I feel your pain 3/10

Yet another rushed movie tie-in game. This particular tie-in tries it's best to emitate the classic game Golden Axe and fails miserably. One of my favorite things in Golden Axe was the different magic levels and animations. In Eragon, even with your magic maxed out, you will still get the same animation and weak magic power, multiplied by number of times you upgraded magic.
After almost each level you play as Eragon, you will get a new combo you can use on your enemies. These are divided into magic combos and non-magic combos. I thought the magic combos were pretty cool, until I noticed that each time you use a magic combo, you loose a certain amount of life points. With the magic combos out of the picture due to the fear of magicing yourself to death, the two best non-magic combos are 5-5-5 and 5-9. Once you get the 5-9 combo you can use it until the end of the game to easily beat everyone, including the boss character. Combo are show only once and it's impossible to check which ones you currently posses and what keys you need to press to activate them.
Any use of magic seems to be discouraged in this game, same goes for defense. Defense only activates when you stand still and why would you stand still in a hack and slash game. The easiest way to win is to first only upgrade health and attack and only upgrade magic and defense at the end when your health and attack are maxed out.
There are a couple of levels where you play as the dragon Saphira. The point of these levels escapes me. Most of the time, by flying either all the way at the top or all the way at the bottom will get you through without getting hurt at all.
The game is very short and is too easy. Most of the combos are useless. The only good thing I will say about this game is that, compared to some of the other mobile games I played, the graphics are pretty decent. Once you finish the game, you are awarded with a code for Fury Mode for PS2 and Xbox. For PS2, pause game, hold L1, L2, R1, R2 and then enter: square, square, O, O. For Xbox, hold all triggers down and enter: X, X, B, B.
